Passikudah is a small coastal village situated in the east of Sri Lanka about 35km from Batticaloa. It is famous for its golden bay and clear, shallow waters. Very popular among visitors due to the calm clear waters. The water is so shallow here that you can walk out into the sea for nearly a mile, or cross from one side of the bay to the other. This has made it popular with families and their young children.
